The wife of a man who was killed was miraculously not injured and another woman was found dead early Sunday morning.

Roads and schools are closed because of damage from the deadly tornado outbreak on Saturday. Three people are confirmed dead following the storms in Alabama. The National Weather Service is surveying the damage and releasing initial results, including damage consistent with tornadoes stronger than EF-1 strength.

Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey later confirmed at least three deaths and noted that there were reports of damage in 52 of the state's 67 counties as the assessment continues.

When severe weather tore through central Alabama on Saturday night, residents in Calera were told to take cover after a tornado was spotted in the area.
