Nearly two dozen states have sued the Trump administration over large cuts at AmeriCorps, a volunteer service agency. The lawsuit was led by Democratic state officials who are also suing the administration over canceling millions in grant funding.

In Colorado, Gov. Jared Polis said in a statement, AmeriCorps members help support wildfire mitigation, students in schools and expanded mental health access.

The national community service agency supports more than 200,000 volunteers across the country but has been decimated by the president's cuts.
