After back-to-back northern lights shows in the Badger State, residents will have two more chances to see the aurora this week.
After displays of auroras lit up the sky on Tuesday, another Northern Light array is expected to bring a gleaming light show to the northern part of the U.S. Wednesday.
Strong geomagnetic storms and a moderate solar radiation storm have led to an aurora view forecast for Wednesday night in the northern U.S.
The northern lights were visible Tuesday night across the Chicago area, illuminating the sky with brightly colorful displays due to severe solar storms.
If you missed the lights the past two nights, you may still have another chance: forecasts show the northern lights may visible as far south as central Wisconsin on Nov. 13 and in the northern portion of the state Nov. 14. The view line on SWPC's dashboard map shows people in up to nine states could see the northern lights, or aurora borealis, Thursday night. Michiganders as far south as West Branch, Cadillac and Manistee may be able to see the glowing lights in the night sky to the north, NOAA says.
Northern lights are expected to dance across U.S. skies again on Wednesday night, Nov. 12, after appearing as far south as Florida the night before.
