The wildfire started burning in a rural area several miles east of Highway 49 and southeast of Placerville. As of 4:30 p.m. the Cal Fire Amador-El Dorado Unit said the wildfire was burning at a moderate rate of spread.
The blaze has charred through 366.7 acres, according to a CAL FIRE Amador-El Dorado Unit Facebook post. Air and ground resources are battling the blaze.
