Dave Parker passed away less than a month away from his induction ceremony, making his son's speech hit that much harder as it happened. Dave Parker II even mentioned that he died while writing his Hall of Fame speech.

Parker hit .281 with 107 home runs and 432 RBIs in four seasons for the Reds from 1984 to 1987. A two-time All-Star for Cincinnati, he finished second in National League MVP voting in 1985 and fifth in 1986.

Dave Parker's Hall of Fame plaque reads, "Superstar outfielder delivered on the confidence he brought to the ballpark."
