Venmo users reported issues on Monday morning, Oct. 20, after an Amazon Web Services outage triggered widespread issues.
Amazon Web Services is experiencing an outage early Monday morning, causing other apps that use the platform to not load for users, according to Downdetector. These are the apps that aren’t available,
"We have narrowed down the source of the network connectivity issues that impacted AWS Services," read the latest update from the AWS status page. "The root cause is an underlying internal subsystem responsible for monitoring the health of our network load balancers."
AWS said in a status update on Monday just before 4 p.m. EDT that all of its services had "returned to normal operations" after much-used sites like Shapchat, Canva, Venmo, Coinbase, Ring doorbell cameras, Roblox and Fortnite were affected throughout the day Monday.
Widespread internet outages were reported early on Monday, taking down popular services including Snapchat, Fortnite and Roblox, as Amazon Web Services said there was an issue they were working to mitigate.
