A brushfire in Maui, Hawaii, rapidly grew from a quarter-acre to 500 acres on Sunday, the authorities said.

A wildfire that broke out in South Maui Sunday morning is now mapped at approximately 330 acres, according to the County of Maui Dept. of Fire and Public Safety (MFD). The fire prompted an evacuation order for around 105 homes and remains in effect.
