The attack in Sydney shows how the Islamic State continues to inspire violence on a global scale with more frequency than other terrorist groups, officials say.

President Donald Trump vows "very serious retaliation" after an ISIS gunman killed two U.S. Army soldiers and an interpreter in a Syrian ambush, leaving three other soldiers wounded.
