Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay continues to praise backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. While he's no immediate threat to Matthew Stafford's role with the team, McVay still believes Garoppolo is a starter in the league. He added that Garoppolo is the best backup quarterback in the NFL.

While the Rams have a proven starter in Matthew Stafford, Sean McVay is willing to put Jimmy Garoppolo in that same category.

On Saturday, Rams coach Sean McVay stated that Stafford is week-to-week with the back injury he has been dealing with since the start of training camp. He was expected to return Monday, but the Rams want to be cautious and make sure Stafford is ready for Week 1.

The Rams will be Jimmy Garoppolo's fourth NFL team, the quarterback having stops with New England, San Francisco and Las Vegas before making a deal with L.A.
