The Lamborghini EV may have as much as 2000 horsepower, thanks in part to a 980-volt electrical architecture. It will be a "very specific set-up for Lamborghini," VW AG CEO Oliver Blume says.

That’s what Volkswagen Group CEO Oliver Blume said in a recent interview, revealing that the EV will ride on a special platform developed by Porsche for the group’s luxury and performance brands. It will also underpin cars from Audi and Bentley.

Lamborghini's hybrid supercar, the Revuelto, makes 1,001 horsepower. Its next electrified car, and the brand's first fully electric one, could make almost double that number, according to Volkswagen Group CEO Oliver Blume.
