Flagg and the Mavericks did not envision losses becoming such a regular part of his lessons. Dallas is a veteran-laden team that regarded itself as a Western Conference contender to start the season, but big men Anthony Davis and Daniel Gafford have only played five games apiece; Dereck Lively II has only played three games.

Giannis Antetokounmpo poked fun at Mavericks coach Jason Kidd during the Bucks’ win over Dallas on Monday. Kidd, who coached Antetokounmpo from his second NBA season in 2014 up until 2018, oversaw Antetokounmpo’s development into one of the league’s best players.

The Mavericks will be without Anthony Davis once again on Monday night. Jason Kidd provided an AD injury update before the game.
