Hurricane Erick made landfall in Mexico as a major Category 3 storm on Thursday morning, according to the National Hurricane Center.The storm landed in western Oaxaca, Mexico, just east of Punta Maldonado with maximum sustained winds near 125 mph.

After making landfall as a major hurricane along Mexico's coast, Erick weakened to a tropical storm. It left flooded streets and damaged boats and buildings in Oaxaca.
