A winter storm warning has been issued for all of Middle Tennessee. While most areas could receive between three to six inches of snow on Friday, some areas could see as much as seven inches.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — All of Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky are under a Winter Storm Warning starting Friday. The warning for Lincoln, Moore, and Franklin Counties runs from Midnight Friday to 6 AM Saturday. The rest of Middle TN and Southern KY are under the warning from 3 AM Friday to 6 AM Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service, most areas are expected to see a dusting of snow, while higher elevations could see up to one inch. Due to the weather forecast, many schools throughout the region will be closed. Here's what Middle Tennessee schools are closed on Monday.

In January over the past years, Nashville and Middle Tennessee have experienced snow days from sledding, snow angels, and snowmen.

Williamson County and other areas south of I-40 face a wind advisory on Sunday afternoon, with very cold temperatures forecast through the week.
