Mikie Sherrill won 15 of New Jersey's 21 counties in the crowded primary for governor, building a coalition in the crowded race that stretched from North Jersey to Cape May. How did she do it?

Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly, chair of the Democratic Governors Association, has congratulated U.S. Rep. Mikie Sherrill on her apparent win in the New Jersey gubernatorial primary.

The stage is set for November when New Jersey voters will select the Garden State's next governor. Republican Jack Ciattarelli and Democrat Rep. Mikie Sherrill both secured their party's nomination in Tuesday night's primary elections.
