After a long wait filled with leaks, reveals, preorder stress, and hands-on events, the Nintendo Switch 2’s launch day has finally arrived around the world, including launch events at retailers like Walmart, GameStop, Best Buy, and Target.
The Nintendo Switch 2 has smashed its own sales record by becoming the fastest selling Nintendo game system ever with more than 3.5 million units sold in just four days.
The Nintendo Switch 2 improves on one of the best consoles ever with smoother gameplay, a better design and some fun new tricks, but you can probably wait a bit to buy one.
With “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe,” producer Kosuke Yabuki said he felt his team at Nintendo reached a finish line. In an interview published by the company, the developer said they perfected the formula that Nintendo had used since the original, and the team wanted to embark on a new adventure.
Mario Kart World was tested on Nintendo Switch 2. Pokémon Legends: Z-A will arrive on October 16, 2025, but pre-orders begin on June 5. The Pokémon Company also announced new Mega Evolution merchandise (available now on the Pokémon Center) and confirmed the Pokémon Presents presentation coming July 22.

The Switch 2 is here, and I’m loving the upgraded hardware so far. It feels nice, looks wonderful, and runs like a dream. But while Mario Kart World is great, and I’ve enjoyed revisiting a bunch of other great games through their spiffy Switch 2 ports, I can’t help but feel like something is missing.
Then, press and hold down the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons located on the top left of the Switch 2, and then press the Power button once to turn the system on. Keep holding down the volume buttons until the menu for Recovery Mode appears. Navigating to this menu should reset the battery level meter.
