Kim Jong Un discussed ongoing cooperation with Moscow in talks with President Vladimir Putin’s top security aide Sergei Shoigu, North Korea’s state media said Wednesday, after reports that Pyongyang plans to send more military personnel to support Russia.
Wrapping up a one-day visit to Pyongyang, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu said that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un decided to send 1,000 sappers to clear mines in the Kursk region and 5,000 military construction workers to restore infrastructure there, according to Russia's state news agency, Tass.
Russia's top presidential security adviser Sergei Shoigu was expected to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong Un after arriving in Pyongyang "on special instructions" from President Vladimir Putin, Russia's Tass news agency reported on Tuesday.
