Israeli forces demolished more than a dozen apartment buildings at a refugee camp in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, a Palestinian official told CNN, the latest move in a military operation that has displaced tens of thousands of Palestinians in recent weeks.

Humanitarian officials say they haven’t seen such such displacement in occupied territory since 1967 Mideast war, stirring memories of 1948.

A weeks-long Israeli offensive has demolished houses and torn up vital infrastructure in the heavily built up townships, Palestinian authorities said.

Soldiers have pushed deeper and more forcefully, scattering families and stirring bitter memories of the 1948 war over Israel’s creation.
