The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology canceled its latest tsunami warning late Friday night, October 10, after monitoring stations in Bislig and Tandag in Surigao del Sur which recorded no significant sea level changes following the magnitude 6.8 earthquake that struck off Manay, Davao Oriental.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Davao Oriental was located at 7.07°North, 127.06°East off shore Davao Oriental. It had a depth of focus of 10 kilometers. The quake-recording bureau issued a tsunami warning following the quake.
