Nothing like a trade to throw some spice into the middle of an NFL season.
The Cincinnati Bengals will be without rookie defensive end Shemar Stewart for their upcoming game against the Detroit Lions on Oct. 5. Stewart has now missed three consecutive games with an ankle injury.
The Bengals indeed have a new quarterback, albeit from an unlikely place. While they had been linked to Russell Wilson or Jameis Winston from the Giants, they instead brought Joe Flacco down Interstate 71 from the Browns in a trade on Tuesday.
Third will be the third consecutive week the Bengals have had a referee whose crew ranked in the top three of most flags thrown. Cheffers and his crew rank third with 22 flags per game, just behind Ron Tobert (Vikings game) and Alex Moore (Broncos), who are tied for first with 23.5.
