Microsoft today announced that it is bringing support for linking data from multiple online workbooks for Excel on the web. However, the files must be stored in OneDrive or SharePoint.

Once the final version of your Excel workbook or Microsoft 365’s version of Excel Workbook is complete you might want to stop or turn off the workbook sharing in Excel to avert any unwanted changes.

If multiple users work in the same Microsoft Excel file, you can limit their access to only the ranges where they need to work.
