The Halo series is coming to PlayStation 5. In a new demo debuted at the Halo World Championship, Microsoft has revealed Halo: Campaign Evolved – described as "a faithful yet modernised remake of Halo: Combat Evolved 's campaign" – is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S next year.

Halo is looking for a fresh start, and today’s 2025 Halo Project Update livestream could give it just that.

The remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved, retitled Halo: Campaign Evolved, will launch in 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. The title will also be available on mobile devices and tablets through Microsoft’s cloud streaming platform.

While there's no word from Xbox about this, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has issued a reminder about how Xbox is very much open to supporting the Switch 2 going forward. He also acknowledges the "excellent support" Microsoft's gaming division has received from Nintendo.

Speaking during an announcement stream, in which Halo Studios officially revealed the remake of the original Halo campaign for Xbox, PS5, and PC, community director Brian Jarrard appeared wearing a PlayStation t-shirt and confirmed it was the studio’s intention for the series to remain multiplatform.
