And you believe those things because the movie is animated and has a certain look and feel, which creates an unspoken whimsy. The world itself feels real, even when it’s obviously not. Funny then that the “real” version of Moana feels so incredibly fake.
The new film is a reimagining of the classic animated film that families have loved for a decade. It’s sure to be a hit with new fans as well.
This live-action remake of the 2016 animated film has nothing to add to the original, and winds up subtracting instead.
It's not even been 10 years since we first met Moana — the eponymous film was released in November 2016 — but Disney is already putting out a live-action version of the animated adventure-musical, with Moana hitting theaters on July 10,
