IAS officer Supriya Sahu shared a video showing the rescue of a newborn elephant calf swept away by the Teesta River.

A three- to four-day-old elephant calf was swept 4–5 km downstream in the swollen Teesta River before five fishermen rescued it and reunited it with its mother.

The calf was taken to the Kathambari range office, where it was provided immediate veterinary care by forest department teams.
