At least 14 Palestinians were killed on Sunday in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip, including nine who were shot dead while waiting for humanitarian aid in the southern city of Rafah, according to medical sources. The nine victims were targeted near aid distribution centers in northern Rafah, the sources told Anadolu.

The local pause in fighting came days after ceasefire efforts between Israel and Hamas appeared to be in doubt.

Donald Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff and the US ambassador to Israel travelled to Gaza on Friday to visit an aid site run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, defending the scheme as “incredible” despite an international outcry over starvation in the strip.
