Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks beat the Detroit Pistons in six games in the first round of the NBA playoffs. Brunson finished off the Pistons with 40 points and a clutch three-pointer in the final seconds of Game 6.

With Brunson’s dominant fourth quarter in Game 1, he made NBA playoff history as he became just the third player since 1997-98 to score 75 or more points in the fourth quarter through their first seven games of a postseason run. Brunson joins Stephen Curry, who did so in 2023, and Kobe Bryant, who accomplished it in 2008.

The Knicks came from 20 points down to force overtime and beat the Celtics, who had a terrible night from 3-point land, in Game 1 of their series.
