Google used the Pixel 10 launch to take potshots at Apple, which has repeatedly delayed AI updates to Siri, its digital assistant.

For its Made by Google event on Wednesday, Google lifted the veil off the Pixel 10 lineup today. The base model, which starts at $799, looks and seems very similar to its predecessor, the Pixel 9, with a similar design language to last year's phone.

As for features, the big new one is that the speaker will apparently be able to pair with a Google TV Streamer to deliver spatial TV audio, a trick borrowed from Apple’s HomePods, which can connect to Apple TV hardware.

Google's updates to the Pixel 10 line allow it to showcase what its latest AI technology can do when enhanced by the Tensor G5 processor, an upgrade to the company's custom silicon designed for the AI experience.

Google follows in Apple's footsteps by nixing support for physical SIM cards from its US Pixel 10 phones. The company says most US Pixel owners already use eSIM.
