Avengers: Doomsday is set to feature a ton of different new and returning stars to the MCU, including Chris Evans in a reported return to Captain America. While the news will excite most, it does also damage one of Marvel Studios’ biggest movies.

Marvel Studios confirmed plans to bring the last Avengers movie back to the big screen September 2026 with a social media post and short video teaser. It’s a nostalgia pull that calls back not only to the crossover film’s iconic “on your left” moment but also the viral audience reactions that came with it.

Disney is planning a theatrical rerelease of “ Avengers: Endgame ,” the second-highest-grossing film of all time, on Sept. 25.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to release on December 18, 2026. As shown by March's ultra-long livestream, the full cast is stacked. It includes legacy MCU actors, post-Endgame heroes, plus X-Men, Thunderbolts, and Fantastic Four actors.

Marvel made the somewhat baffling decision to produce theatrical-only teaser trailers for Avengers: Doomsday, a full year ahead of release. Now, of course, they have leaked online. Spoilers follow, although no one can be blamed for that but Marvel.
