President Donald Trump walked back his criticisms of Australia on Monday, March 9, after the United States ally offered of asylum to Iranian members of the Iranian women's soccer team.

Australia said it had granted humanitarian visas to a total of seven members of the Iranian women’s football delegation on Wednesday morning as the rest of the team landed in Malaysia.

But hours later, the home affairs minister told Australia's federal parliament that one of the women had spoken to her departed teammates and decided to return home to Iran
