WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump met with Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday and again expressed his surprise that the Ukrainian leader, whose citizens are getting slaughtered nightly by Russian drones and missiles, does not get along with Vladimir Putin, the man ordering those attacks.

Trump has boasted he could quickly end Russia’s invasion.

Trump's conciliatory tone after the call with Putin raised questions over the near-term likelihood of assistance to Ukraine and reignited European fears of U.S. capitulation to Moscow.
