British authorities are investigating two plots involving mostly Iranian nationals in the U.K. that appear at this stage of the investigation likely to be state-sponsored, according to a senior official briefed on the threat.

Four men are continuing to be questioned by police over an alleged terror plot in the UK. The men, who are Iranian nationals, are being held over an alleged plan to target "a specific premises", the Metropolitan Police said.
