A devotion to reading brings one elderly woman in Indiana to her local library. That's true for one young child, too. They've formed an unlikely friendship and visit the library together each week.
The American Library Association recently announced that award-winning librarian and Reading Rainbow host Mychal Threets will serve as honorary chair of the National Library Week 2026, April 19-25.
The closure, which includes libraries and recreation centers, will begin Monday, with offices reopening on Jan. 5.
