NFL free agency officially began with the new league year kicking off at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday. There were plenty of moves made during the legal tampering period on Monday and Tuesday, but those deals were basically handshake agreements.

The first stage of the player acquisition period of the NFL offseason is here. The league's free agency period started at noon Monday. That's when the official "negotiation window" opened up for teams to reach out to players' agents and start talking about and reaching agreement on deals.

The negotiating period of free agency opens at noon ET on Monday, March 10, while free agency officially opens a few days later on March 12 at 4 p.m. ET. This post will track everything the Lions do the entire offseason leading up to training camp.
