Baltimore — Kilmar Abrego Garcia, whose arrest and fight to stay in the U.S. has become a flashpoint in President Donald Trump's immigration crackdown, arrived Monday morning to Baltimore in anticipation of reporting to U.S. immigration officials and then likely facing deportation proceedings.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia was taken into immigration custody after checking in with Immigration and Customs Enforcement at its office in Baltimore on Monday morning.

Lawyers for Abrego Garcia, whose case has become a flashpoint in the debate over the administration’s immigration policies, had filed a petition seeking to block his removal.
