Houston weather: Freeze Warning for Monday
The National Weather Service has upgraded its Monday morning Freeze Watch to a Freeze Warning for most of the FOX 26 area.
A Cold Weather Advisory and Freeze Warning have been issued for counties across south Georgia and the Big Bend as temperatures are expected to take a significant drop Sunday night.
Temperatures will begin to moderate starting Monday, with highs reaching the teens across most areas. A brief warm-up is forecast for the middle of the week, with temperatures climbing into the 30s on Tuesday and reaching the upper 30s to low 40s by Wednesday and Thursday—well above normal for mid-December.

A freeze watch has been issued for parts of California and Arizona as a cold front moves through the Western part of the country, bringing sub-freezing temperatures and high winds to the region. The advisory comes amid widespread winter weather affecting large parts of the country, including forecasted snow in the Northeast in the coming days.
A widespread freeze is expected overnight into Monday morning, with the best potential for a hard freeze for areas north of the I-10/12 corridor. Gusty north winds of 15–20 mph will drive wind chills into the teens north of the interstates and the low to mid-20s farther south.
