Kilmar Abrego Garcia, whose arrest and fight to stay in the U.S. has become a flashpoint in President Donald Trump ’s immigration crackdown, surrendered Monday morning to U.S. immigration authorities in Baltimore.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the Maryland man who was unlawfully deported to El Salvador earlier this year, urged supporters at a rally to “continue to fight (and) resist” before he checked in at the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office in Baltimore on Monday.

CBS News reported that hours after Kilmar Abrego Garcia was released from criminal custody, his attorneys were sent a court-required notice of his potential deportation to Uganda.
