DALLAS (AP) — Jason Kidd and his Dallas Mavericks went into their game Wednesday night against the Phoenix Suns hoping to put the distractions of the previous 48 hours behind them.

The Dallas Mavericks fired general manager Nico Harrison on Tuesday, an admission nine months later that the widely criticized trade of Luka Doncic backfired on the franchise.

Harrison, 52, accepted responsibility for the trade and defended it by claiming there were concerns over Doncic's physique and commitment to conditioning.
