The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that neither ICC nor the board has announced an official opening ceremony for the Champions Trophy 2025

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will skip the traditional captains' meet and photoshoot due to logistical issues. With matches spread across four venues in two countries, teams will arrive just before the competition.

In a break from tradition, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that there will be no official captains' meet or photoshoot ahead of the 2025 Champions Trophy, which will be hosted in Pakistan.

Although the Champions Trophy usually features a captains' photoshoot and media event, this time, the PCB has opted to skip these due to timing and logistical challenges.

The BCCI will not have to worry about sending Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma to Pakistan as the PCB has reportedly decided to cancel the captains’ event and official photoshoot for Champions Trophy 2025 due to logistical challenges.

The final ceremony will be held in Lahore on February 16, attended by former cricketers and ICC officials. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has already met with PM Shahbaz Sharif to finalize the arrangements.

The ICC said that the ticket sales for the Pakistan leg of next month's Champions Trophy will begin from Tuesday despite the stadium renovation work in the host nation is yet to be completed.

There will be no captains’ photoshoot or conference in Pakistan before the ICC Champions Trophy, a source in the host cricket board told on Thursday, ending the possibility of India skipper travelling to the country for any pre-tournament engagements.
