A crowd of protesters marched from Washington, D.C.’s, Dupont Circle to the front of the White House on Saturday, as part of a nationwide protest against President Donald Trump’s orders to federalize the D.

The move followed Attorney General Pam Bondi's announcement that DEA chief Terry Cole would assume the duties of police chief.

D.C. Police Chief Pamela Smith will remain in control of the Metropolitan Police Department after D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb filed a lawsuit Friday challenging what he called an unlawful attempt by the federal government to seize control of the city’s police force.
