At parks, coffee shops, churches and government buildings around the country, hundreds of people are expected to gather today with a simple message: “Stop the Trump takeover.”

Gavin Newsom warned President Donald Trump. “It’s time to, dare I say, do the right thing.”Newsom has a history of locking horns with Trump, especially as the former has emerged as a strong contender for the Democratic presidential nomination for 2028—a race that Trump has repeatedly teased running in despite constitutional term limits and one in which his legacy will be tested nonetheless.

Newsom said Tuesday night that California will move forward with drawing new congressional maps that "WILL END THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY" and allow Democrats to take control of the U.S. House of Representatives.
