The statue, which had been located on the steps to the Academy Professional Building, was last known to be there on Feb. 3, police said.

It’s big, it’s bronze and now, it’s missing: police in D.C. are searching for a statue of a dog that was stolen from a dog park in Southeast. However, community members say the statue was more than just a piece of art.

The author was born in St. Paul in 1896 and attended St. Paul Academy, which was then on Dale Street just off Summit Avenue. A statue of a young Fitzgerald, with books on his lap, usually sits on the side of the stairs leading to the front door.

A statue of a young F. Scott Fitzgerald, once outside the St. Paul building where he attended school and published some of his first stories, has been stolen. The St. Paul Police Department on Tuesday said the statute was last known to be at 25 Dale Street North, just north of the Dale Street and Summit Avenue intersection, on Feb. 3.
