The Army Corps of Engineers has listed 600 energy and infrastructure projects for development under President Trump’s national energy emergency declaration, which aims to bolster the nation’s energy independence.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on Thursday said it is revising a list of more than 600 energy and other infrastructure projects it had earmarked to be fast-tracked under President Donald Trump's declaration of a national energy emergency.

Trump’s executive order, issued on his first day in office, directed the Army Corps to fast-track permits allowing the filling of wetlands and construction in waterways under the National Energy Emergency. However, the move is expected to spark legal battles, with environmental groups arguing it violates federal regulations.

The list includes an oil pipeline under Lake Michigan, several natural gas power plants, and liquefied natural gas export terminals
