After the Houston Astros held a defensive session practicing cut-offs and relay throws on a back field at their spring training complex Friday morning, Jose Altuve walked to the dugout with the position group he has occupied early in camp.

Astros second baseman Jose Altuve was willing to move to left field if it meant bringing back longtime teammate Alex Bregman, but those days are done in Houston.

Astros reporter Brian McTaggart posted a video to X (formerly Twitter) of Altuve taking reps in left field. The eight-time All-Star has almost exclusively played second base in the majors, outside of one game at shortstop in 2016 and again in 2019.
