Baltimore again served as a backdrop for the contentious immigration battle pitting Kilmar Abrego Garcia against the Trump administration's hardline immigration enforcement efforts.

A ‌federal ​judge on Friday blocked ‌an effort to have Kilmar Abrego returned ​to custody a day after his release from detention.

In the order, U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis said Abrego Garcia was held at a notorious El Salvador prison known as CECOT without “lawful authority.”
