Reaching the NFC Championship is one of the clearest markers of true contention in the NFL. Some teams have made recent, familiar trips to the conference’s biggest stage, while others are still chasing a return years—or even decades—later.

A playoff game also cannot end in a tie, so if the score is even after the first overtime period, the teams will play as many are needed for a winner to emerge. Between each overtime period a two-minute intermission will take place.
