At the moment, "Spain tourist ban" is one of the biggest search trends in the entire United States. It is no secret by now, Spain is doing its part to avoid overtourism. They set a two-year ban on short-term rentals earlier in the year in Alicante.

Existing rentals, hotels and Airbnb will continue to house tourists (except for a small number of rentals that were registered after February 22, 2024), however, the registration of new ones in the area’s 43 districts will be prohibited.
