President Donald Trump signed an executive order to bypass California permits to rebuild homes destroyed in last year's wildfires in Los Angeles.

President Donald Trump says he has signed an executive order that seeks to speed up reconstruction of tens of thousands of homes destroyed by the Los Angeles area wildfires in 2025.

President Trump signed an executive order aimed at combating drug addiction and substance abuse on Thursday, dubbing it “the Great American Recovery Initiative.” The initiative directs federal agencies to use grant funds to support addiction recovery and increase awareness surrounding addiction.

This is not something that requires a village, it requires the nation. We need our federal government to come in,” a Pacific Palisades fire victim pleaded.

Instead of going through the usual regulatory process, residents using federal emergency funds to rebuild would have to certify compliance with local standards.

During Trump's first year of his second term, many executive orders faced lawsuits challenging their actions, and many still remain in the courts.

Records requests filed after the multistate lawsuit against Trump's executive order on minors' sex changes returned no records related to allegations of harm.
