David Coverdale has announced his retirement after fifty years of shaping hard rock through Deep Purple, Whitesnake and more.

This comes after Whitesnake dropped out of last year’s North American tour with the Scorpions as Coverdale “continued treatment for a persistent upper respiratory infection,” per Blabbermouth.net.
