It’s almost unheard of for Apple to comment on an individual iPhone app, but it’s just done so in response to the first porn app, just arriving on European iPhones.

Apple has chided a newly introduced pornography app available in the European Union, warning that the bloc’s digital rules opening the way for third-party app store downloads undermines consumer confidence in the tech giant.

AltStore PAL, which is an alternative to Apple ’s App Store, is now free to access because of newly introduced European competition laws. This means users can download adult content browser Hot Tub, which they have dubbed ‘the world’s first Apple-approved porn app’ – despite the App Store not allowing porn.
