HOUSTON – The Department of State Health Services has given entities the go-ahead to begin vaccinating people eligible for Phase 1B, after vaccinating as many willing members of Phase 1A.

In 1979, the Department of Education Organization Act created a separate Department of Education. The remaining agencies were reorganized as the Department of Health and Human Services on May 4, 1980.
