The New York Mets and Edwin Diaz seem to be slipping away as the team has shown interest in a top free agent pitcher.

As is often the case early in baseball's offseason calendar, the reliever market has seen some significant movement before the other segments of free agency really get rolling, as several notable bullpen arms have found new contracts and/or new teams in recent weeks.

Baseball's top closer, Edwin Díaz, is a free agent, sparking surprise as the Yankees reportedly aren't pursuing him. This comes after the Mets signed Devin Williams, potentially altering Díaz's market.
